Guidance Curriculum

Counselors provide students with guidance lessons in their K-5 classrooms.

CHARACTER COUNTS

KES believes in encouraging good character in our students. The Character Counts program teaches six core value pillars of character that are: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. These pillars foster a learning environment while providing a common language of ethical values that is used school wide.

SECOND STEP

The Second Step Program is based on Social Emotional Learning (SEL). This Bullying Prevention Unit teaches students and staff the skills on how to Recognize, Report, and Refuse bullying effectively. It also teaches students how to be good bystanders if they see or know of a bullying situation.
