Kapolei Elementary School is identifying students who: (1) Do not have access to any other computer in their home; (2) have own home internet Wi-fi access and; (3) requested need of a device due to one or more of the situational conditions below. KES will distribute one laptop device per household for identified student use only. Selection guidelines to prioritize laptop distribution of KES’ limited supply of chromebook devices are as follows:
1. Multi-sibling families (four or more children in 1 household) make it difficult for accessibility when doing distance learning at home
2. Multi-sibling families (three or more children in 1 household) make it difficult for accessibility when doing distance learning at home
3. Twin siblings may find difficulty in participating in distance learning class meetups as they are in the same grade level and may have activities occurring at the same time
If you are interested in the program and haven't already requested to be placed on the school waitlist, please call the KES school office by Monday, August 10. Mahalo!

Due to the state of COVID-19, some families have asked for FULL online learning. We are pleased to have found an online program called Accellus Learning which includes lessons related to the common core state standards. If you are interested, please visit www.acellus.com for more information.
This is an independent online course. Students will watch virtual lessons, then do various tasks online. There will be a “live” teacher check-in once a week to get support. Children who may benefit from online learning need to be self-disciplined, technologically competent, independent learners and have strong parental support and supervision at home.
If you are interested in receiving information about the FULL Online Learning program, please complete the following Google Form with the URL address below by Wednesday, July 22 @ 10:00 p.m. Please do not fill in the survey if you are not interested.
Copy/paste the URL address in an internet browser: https://forms.gle/PnQrzCDEKLZnBaXo7
Once the survey is closed, you will receive a letter and consent form containing more information. Your child will only be enrolled in FULL Online Learning if your consent form is received.
The Hawaii Department of Education will be announcing the 2020-2021 school year plans in July 2020. Thank you for your patience.
